About this piece

Cherry Static plays with the invented flavor of a cherry cola that crackles — the label reads like static on an old TV, all electric pinks jumping off a deep candy red. The can shape is a 3D-printed form; every mark on it is painted by hand in acrylics, so no two pieces in the edition of 8 read exactly alike. It stands 34 cm tall, a collectible object built to sit on a shelf or plinth the way a vinyl toy or a KAWS figure would — pop art you can hold.

How was it made?

The form is 3D-printed, then primed and painted entirely by hand — roughly 40 hours of acrylic work per piece, finished with a protective sealant. The design comes out of Cansy's years as a beverage label designer: real packaging instincts (typography, gloss, the logic of a flavor) turned into fine art. More on how the sculptures are made →
